1: Introduction

Computer and video games have come a long way since Space Invaders and Pac Man launched. As the first internet service WWW (World Wide Web) launched, we are living in a flood of information. Today's games and internet based contents are much more complex and interesting, and the technology has advanced that user can become immersed in a multimedia-enabled 'virtual reality' or 'alternate world'. Do violent role-playing games make young people violent? Does spending too long on the internet cause young people to become overweight and unhealthy? Do games and using internet increase skills or knowledge about society? These are important issues because many young people spend too many hours each week playing games and using internet based contents. These questions are what this analytical research paper has to search for.

2: Background research

2-1: Life style comparison of ‘Digital-friendly generation & Non-digital friendly generation’

The development of computer and internet caused many gaps between young generation and older generation these days. Examining the generation difference will help understanding why youngsters are easier to sink into internet contents and computer/video games.
