In modern world today, Islam and Christianity are two major recognized religious beliefs practiced around the world. While both religions have points of contact, each religion holds an opposing view from one another. When comparing both religions on the text that shaped the religion, Islam reads from the Qur’an and Christianity’s sacred text is the bible. Within the sacred texts of the Islam and Christianity religion, Islam’s Qur’an text views the literal word and work of Allah who is Islam’s god. On the other hand, Christianity’s view is focused on literal word of god and is inspired by human versions and descriptions. In the view of salvation, Islamic religion believes that performing good deeds, believing in the correct belief, and practicing the five pillars will bring you salvation when Allah arrives. Christians believe that having faith, accomplishing good deeds, and practice sacraments will deliver you from evil and save your soul on judgment day. Islam’s major rituals include Five Pillars which are prayer, pilgrimage, charity, fasting, and confession of faith. In contrast to Islam, Christianity practice sacred rituals as baptism and communion. Islam’s symbols of faith and purity contain the crescent and the name of Allah in Arabic. Christianity’s symbols comprises cross, crucifix, dove, anchor, fish, alpha and omega. Both religions believe in one God this religion is called Monotheistic in which each religion believes that their God is the creator. Christians celebrate Lent and Easter as their central Holidays and Islam celebrate the month of Ramadan. All in all Christians are respected as "People of the Book," but they have mistaken beliefs and only partial revelation in view of Islamic religion. In addition Islam is respected as a fellow monotheistic religion, but Muhammad is not seen as a true prophet in the Christian’s view.
