Summary:

Year 1891 in Ghent, Belgium, Jose Rizal was writing his book for the Philippines to reveal the scrutiny of Spanish officials like the abuse of women and the beating of children who are serving hard for the church. He wrote some lines like “our sad country” and “our grievances and frustrations” and Ibarra showed up with a new identity in the name of Simoun.

Meanwhile in the Philippines, the KKK or Kataas-taasang, Kagalang-galangan Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan shout “Long Live Dr. Jose Rizal.” In the Malacańang Palace, the Governor-General plans to forward the troops on the Bulacan province. Archbishop Nozaleda arrives and he demanded the elimination of the uprising-culprit Dr. Jose Rizal. After that the Supremo of Katipunan Andres Bonifacio ordered the Katipuneros to tear up their cedulas which resembles the Cry of Pugadlawin.

The Spaniards manage to capture and torture Jose Rizal’s brother Paciano because they want to know if Dr. Rizal has a connection on the uprising in some towns around the archipelago. He then arrived at their house with serious wounds and the Rizal Family are packing to leave the area around the Dominican Residence. The order to capture Dr. Rizal was given in Fort Santiago, the interrogator ask Rizal if he knew in the first place the Supremo of Katipunan, Rizal then answered that he met Bonifacio at an assembly in Ongjuco’s place. Rizal was accused for being a traitor and treated like the Gomburza in which he dedicated his last novel El Filibusterismo.

There was a flashback where Pepe said his older brother Paciano was the one who opened his eyes to the unjust and injustice that darkens the society of the country. Paciano being Father Burgos’ confidant knew and witnessed the execution of the great priest which he whom idolized.
