Managers and Leaders

Leaders would be good managers however leaders are not always managers are not always leaders. There are two distinct differences when it comes out and many people confuse them as being the same. I read an article named being a manager doesn’t make you a leader, by Pozin, Ilya. This article talks about the differences that managers and leaders hold.

The article sets up how a manager and a leader do things differently. It starts by talking about how managers can shout orders out but leaders would ask questions and allow their team to participate in decisions. Managers point out mistakes and could make their employees fell low on what they have done. Leaders give the employee a chance to learn from their mistakes on their own. Managers do not praise much while leaders will recognize their employees for even the smallest thing. Managers tend to see the flaws and leaders recognize the good first and at the end. Managers take credit for the good, but leaders will give the credit to their team first.

To me this article talked about how managers and leaders are different, however it shows how they can do the same thing. Leaders are the best managers however it is hard to be a leader in a management position. These though can collide with hard work. Managers tend to forget what they felt when they were at an employee level however a leader thinks that way consistently. I would love to hear one day that I alone can achieve being a manager who is a leader; however I hope that I don’t just become a manager that make my employees feel bad about what job they are doing.

In this article you see that managers and leaders are different at their approach to some of the same situations, however points out the differences on each.
