Process Reflection: Unwrapping Standard 2

Unwrapping ISLLC Standard 2 again appeared to be another awesome experience working along with the green team. We immediately communicated through the forum to come up with a new game plan. After several discussions we decided to work on the same section that we did before and switch for the next standards.

We actually had a minor issue in the beginning of the assignment. Two of the members were on spring break and wanted to spend time with the family and the other had the flu. We worked the issues by communicating up front what is expected from each member. We settled to complete the discussion questions both on the same day, and use the other time reading, just as long as the sections are ready for draft on Tuesday to allow us to check before submission on Wednesday.

In spike of the above mentioned issue, we worked and communicated collaboratively to unwrap standard 2. As stated in the ISLLC, in a collaborative school culture, the mission of the school is shared. My team and I demonstrated such. We knew a task had to be completed so we supported one another, trusted one another, and acted professionally. This type of action we displayed brought forth a collaborative culture, which is not always easy to develop, and was reciprocal.

As an administrator one must first build and sustain relationships in order to build a positive and safe school culture. Once that is established, then everyone can work together cooperatively and share ideas.

In conclusion, the process of collaborating with my group again was proved to be valuable. This process is great in understanding the standards and gaining knowledge of how an effective leader should be.
