Supportive Supervision is an essential part of a manager’s role in the health care organization. Supportive supervision is necessary in the health care field to foster good relationships between manager’s and their employees. If an employee does not feel like they have good support it can affect their motivation to be the best employee they can be for the organization as a whole. In a healthcare organization you have to work together as a team and be able to help and know how to detect problems with your employees that are under you. The goal of supportive supervision is to promote efficient, effective, and equitable health care Jon Rohde, MD. In an organization everything is about making sure patients receive the best health care that they can receive and a positive relationship between employees and their manager can ensure that the environment is a positive one for patients.

Supportive Supervision has an impact on the Health care management processes because it deals with the managers having good communication with their employees and providing an environment that works for the patients as well as their employees. Supportive supervision is primarily concerned with increasing effectiveness of the worker though decreasing stress that interferes with performance, and increasing motivation and intensifying commitment that enhances performance Kadushin, A., & Harkness, D. (2002). It takes a manager being able to handle problems and learning that issues arise that will need immediate attention and understanding. An employee will feel comfortable coming to a manager who listens to a situation and tries to handle it than a manager who blows them off because they do not care or do not want to deal with issues that pertain to their employees and their department.
