Ethical research is one of the most significant issues within companies today, in order to ensure everything is up to requirements. In order to be successful, companies must ensure that they strive for the most ethical research methods they can achieve. Within this particular scenario I have chosen to look at, the unethical business research methods that have been used by the company. There were a vast amount of unethical issues within this case and I have chosen to focus on some of the main ones within this summary. Not only this, but when unethical issues are encountered there can be more than one party that is affected, again within this summary we are going to look at the injured parties. In some cases this is not just the business or organization, the public can also be negatively affected by unethical research, again this will be covered within this summary. By ensuring we look at all aspects of the scenario, we can then begin to give options on how the issues cannot only be resolved but also how they could have been avoided. This will allow us to give our own views on the management of unethical issues and also the control of business research in order to avoid said issues.

What unethical research behavior was involved?

When looking at this scenario, in terms of unethical performances, research process was definitely under the ‘unethically carried out’ bracket. The businesses in question were a pharmaceutical corporation, who worked in a partnership with a professor who prior to this was providing the company with the required research for flu (Dominick & Wimmer, 2010). For the duration of their partnership the professor was told he should keep the research he was doing between him and that company, he should not unveil his findings or his research to any other person outside of their dealings.
