End of Dinner Speech

Many thoughts and emotions came to mind after reading, “The Horror of It All”. I am trying my hardest to see why this would make a good end of dinner speech, but I honestly think it would be a horrible idea. I do not understand why anyone would truly share these embarrassing moments of when a movie almost made you lose your mind. I find it odd to see or hear someone describe watching horror films as being delicious. I cannot see why a person would state that they were possessed by a demon, simply because she had six of the ten symptoms. Not being able to sleep, and having headaches and nausea are not clear reasons of being possessed. Personally, I think she was just dehydrated and reading her stories with insufficient amounts of light. She also states that she has a passion for terror and that it has actually caused her to harm such person expensive items such as her $300 truck accident, simply because she was terrified of a dark parking lot after watching “Friday the 13th”. I could not imagine being in the shoes of the few brave men who actually took her out to see these films. She even states that her squirming and screaming made it so that people would avoid her. Once again, I have no idea why she is allowing these movies to take over her life. I think that these movies have in some ways created a monster in her imagination. I could never live in a false world that made me think that there were imaginary people or creatures in my home. She says in the end of the article, that she has lived by herself for two years. She also says that, “I pride myself on the fact that I live alone. The only thing that keeps me awake nights these days is writing speeches. I’m not going to end up in the nuthouse like Bette Davis. But I’m not going to get too overconfident, either. Remember all those unsuspecting kids in Halloween? They were just out having a good time when, WHAM”. After reading this article, I think she should not...
