Club: Step Aerobics

Dates: September 26th - December 19th

Week 1- September 26, 2013

Introduction of the club and of all the students. Do a fitness test to see where all students are. (2.6.P.A.2). (2.6.P.A.1)

Week 2- October 3, 2013

Warm up. Teach kids basic moves of step aerobics. Cool down stretching. (2.6.P.A.2).

Week 3- October 10, 2013

Warm up. Take what the students learned last class and begin easy step aerobics class. Cool down. (2.6.P.A.2).

Week 4- October 17, 2013

Warm up. Have kids get into pairs. Teach aerobics class but have kids help motivate each other. Run a lap. Cool down. (2.6.P.A.2).

Week 5- October 24, 2013

Warm up. Step aerobics. Relaxation Yoga poses to help kids cool down and calm down. (2.6.P.A.2).

Week 6- October 31, 2013

Warm up. Relaxation yoga (1 hr class/ 4 poses) . Cool down and meditation. (2.6.P.A.2).

Week 7- November 14, 2013

Challenge day. Teach step aerobics but have kids use steps with risers. Cool down. (2.6.P.A.2).

Week 8- December 5, 2013

Put into two groups. Have groups complete different exercise sets. This is a competition. The winner will be the group who can do the exercises correctly and efficiently. (2.6.P.A.2).

Week 9- December 12, 2013

Warm Up. Step aerobics (with or without risers). Cool down. (2.6.P.A.2).

Week 10- December 19, 2013

Relaxation yoga. Cool down and meditation.
