The sudden increase of complaints from guest’s shows there may be some underlying issues with the employees, prices, services, processes and policies. The best way to pin point the issue(s) is to conduct a research that tells the story as to what some is issues the employees and guests are being exposed too that is leading to an increase of guest’s dissatisfaction. Conducting a research is beneficial and informative for any business to help gather data to resolve internal issues that can affect the bottom line. Exploratory research is the first type of research that should be conducted since this allows for a variety of possible set ideas, clarify pertinent issues and describes uncovered variables related to the problem and outline alternatives for solving problems. Descriptive research is the second type of research conducted since this helps to define, predict, profile and examine associative relationships of the different issues related to the situation, to develop a flexible solution. Casual research will be the third research conducted because this will provide information to the cause and effect relationship, this can also provide a possible outcome for the course of action.

Exploratory Research Design

This research would be classified as an exploratory study. There is a loose basis for what the researcher wants to figure out. Through an exploratory study, the researcher can begin to further develop a hypothesis. The other degree of research question crystallization is a formal study, which is much more precise and involves a previously formulated hypothesis. After establishing the type of study, one could use an experience survey to better understand the types of complaints. This would be used to survey customers on how they felt about their experience within the company.
