Recommendations
It is our recommendation that IACo goes ahead with its plan to develop a proposal for an Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle (UVA).
The following actions are recommended to meet the stipulated 10 week deadline:
o Time improvement scenarios 1 and 2 will need to be adopted.
o Staff will be required to 6.2 days overtime for the duration of the project
o Concerted effort made to do the initial geometry (Activity 4) ‘right first time’

Rationale for the recommendations
Firstly, we fully endorse the belief of IACo management that winning the UAV bid is essential to the long term survival of the firm and that employees will not only take the same view when the case is made to them but will be prepared to make the sacrifices in terms of overtime that we have recommended.
We recommend adopting time improvement scenarios 1 and 2 because it is essential to reduce the length of the project by as much as possible in order to meet the deadline. The only way to reduce the length of the project is to ‘crash’ activities on the critical path and scenarios 1 and 2 would crash activities 4 and 5 on the critical path by 2 days each, reducing the ‘most likely time’ of completion from 56.5 days to 52.5 days. While scenario 3 would reduce activity 7 by 5 days it is not on the critical path and therefore would have no effect on the length of the project.
Crashing activities 4 and 5 in this way would result in a 95% probability that the project could be completed in 56.2 days if Activity 4 and its dependent activities didn’t have to be redone.[1]
We have recommended that staff be asked to work 5.62 days overtime during the course of the project because working 8 hour days 5...
