AirAsia Berhad (AirAsia) is the leading low cost airlines in South East Asia, which has expanded rapidly since 2001. The company is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and has successfully positioned itself in customer’s mind through the simple slogan “Now Everyone Can Fly”

AirAsia started life in 1993. AirAsia originally was founded by a Government-owned conglomerate as an alternative to the then-monopoly service Malaysia Airlines. DRB-Hicom spent plenty of money on the venture, but failed to win much market share. By 2001, the heavily indebted business was all but bankrupt. On 2 December 2001 AirAsia was bought and set by Tan SriAnthony Tony Fernandes . Fernandes and his partners set up Tune Air Sdn Bhd (Tune Air) an airline holding company then bought over Air Asia

Now Air Asia has been such a big phenomenon in airline industry especially in Asia. Air Asia with the ordinary symbol with strong brand, “Now Everyone Can Fly” nowdays has been phenomena in Airlines industry. Air Asia is one of the airline companies who more focused with the strategy how to reduce inefficiency and make it possible fare in the world. With the cost-efficiency, low complexity and profitability are always the cornerstones of building s string business

The company operates a fleet of 90 aircrafts , serves more than 142 routes covering 70 destinations across Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, China, India, Phillipines, Brunei , Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar. The company primarily operates in Malaysia where it headquartered in Petaling Jaya and employs 8,000 people
