She removes his old-man disguise and he looks godlike.

He thinks he is a god and thank he should beg for mercy.

4) What do Odysseus and Telemachos plan to do?

They plan to overthrow the suitors, the make a plan to surprise attack from within the place. The will take the weapons and slaughter the suitors.

5) Describe Penelopia’s confrontation with Antinoos.

Penelope knows they are plotting her son's death as she barges in on them and [pic]tells them they are evil. She [pic]tells Antinoos that Odysseus saved his father and he should have some respect for their household.

Book 17

1) What does Theoclymenos prophesize to Penelopeia?

He says that Odysseus is in Ithaca at the very moment.

2) How does Odysseus test the suitors?

He begs to the suitors.

3) Who recognizes Odysseus right away? How does he know?

An old dog recognizes him because Odysseus trained him as a puppy.

4) Describe Melanthios.

He is the head of the suitors and when he sees Odysseus he taunts him and kicks dirt on him.

5) Who makes Odysseus extremely angry?

Antinoos yells and interrupts his story. He throws a stool than hits Odysseus’ shoulder.

6) Why does Odysseus want to test his servants and wife before revealing his identity?

He is worried about the suitors because they are so dangerous.
