Mapping Your Future
1. I am getting my degree in Bachelors of Science in Healthcare Administration to become a Medical/Health Manager. It is better to go to graduate school after, so that I can have a higher pay grade.
2. For a Medical/Health Manager the national median salary is $88,580.
3. I plan to live in Maryland after I graduate school. There were 189 jobs available in Maryland when I looked it up.
4. In my field of management there are certifications that you can get but they are not required.
5. There are no accreditations required from Kaplan that I am aware of.
6. The overall job outlook for my profession is to plan, direct, or coordinate medical and health services in hospitals, clinics, managed care organizations, public health agencies or similar organizations.
7. The five duties that I would do on a daily/weekly basis would be providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. I would be using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards. I would monitor
and control resources and overseeing the spending of money. Identifying the underlying principles, reasons,or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts would be a duty. Maintains and developing constructive and cooperative relationships overtime with other professionals and team members.
8. I would use desktop computers, scanners, document management software, and medical software to do my job daily.
I learned a lot about my chosen profession and it has made me more interested and excited to earn my degree.
