Prior to the performance evaluation made, the whole office was once a big happy family. Everyone was once had a closed tie with each other in terms of the office relationship with each other and this was even made easier because of the friendship they had. The atmosphere in the office was once healthy and full of camaraderie. It was once a room of laughter after the office hours, but suddenly became a space of silence in a matter of two weeks.

The problem arose when on performance evaluation time, Cecile ended up the lowest among the five. She was even surpassed by the younger staffs considering that she was much more experienced and had the necessary training and background to be able to perform her task as a project evaluator. Because of this, George tried to motivate the group that they must up their output, especially the seniors. But Cecile took this differently and started becoming unreceptive to the suggestions and plans made for the improvement of the group’s performance. And she even became more adamant in pressing that her duties include those that she had been used to do. The situation was aggravated when George notice that there was something wrong and there is no improvement even after a couple of days after the performance evaluation, and he started becoming easily irritated. He became unapproachable and his jolly appearance disappeared. The whole office got the treatment they did not deserve and everyone was treated as if they were all guilty.
