Boys to Men VS NSYNC

We are going to look at two iconic boy bands and what they have done for us musically. These two groups are nsync and Boys to Men. We will look at what style and genre each group was; why their music is noticeable; what their big hits were and how many they had; what their relationship to their first manager was; whether or not they write their own music; and lastly, if they ever lip-sync. Lets start with Boys to Men.

Boys to Men is an American R-and-B group that is best known for their amazing a cappella harmonies and their soulful ballads. Boys to Men is noticeable because they feature all of their members as a lead singer. This differs greatly from other Rand B groups who only have one or two lead singers and a team of backup singers. This idea is something completely Boys to Men and sets them apart from all the rest.

Boys to Men started the craze that brought Rand B back into the mainstream like it had been in the seventies. They are said to be the contemporary version of the temptations. While their using hip hop beats in combination with R and B is not all that original, it is their us of harmony over those hip hop beats that brings it all together and put them on an almost overnight right to instant stardom.

They have had five number one hits and three of them (“End of the Road”,” I’ll Make Love to You” , and “One Sweet Day” which features Mariah Carey), set and broke records for the longest period of time for a single to remain at the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100.

Boys to Men was originally signed with Motown records from 1990 to 2000 but they created their own recording company called stone creek and moved to epic records after Motown records released a remixes collection of Boys to Men music without their permission. Boys to Men did not want to publish this remix record because they did not feel that it represented the true essence of Boys to Men or their best work.
