1.0 Company Background Carnival is the major and most successful cruise line in the world, carrying more passengers and other cruise ship. Carnival Corporation is incorporated in Panama and Carnival PLC is incorporated in England and Wales. For the quarter ending August 31 2007, carnival’s revenue increased 49% to $4321 billion, while net income increased 253% to $1.377 billion. The narration of the carnival corporation formed in 1972which have been set up by Ted Arison as a subsidiary of the American International Travel Service. Carnival made an initial public offering of 20% of its common stock In 1987. By 1977, carnival corporation at three ships and ten years later as the industry leader, the company went public in the early 2007s,carnival began to diversify into land based entertainment, thus changing its name to carnival corporation. The company use their brand to reach every tier of the cruise market. They focus on providing services to travelers regardless of the vacationers budget itinerary, geography, demographics or physiographic . they intend to meet the needs of vacationers seeking luxury elegance, shorter vacations, exotic destinations or land /sea packages. Carnival corporation owning 25 cruise ships, serving customer worldwide and as 6 new ships under construction. It basically three market segments: contemporary, premium and luxury. The company current strategy is to attract more repeat cruisers and new cruisers of various segments by offering different type of packages. 2.0 VISION Vision is a picture of what a it wants to be and, in the broad term, what it wants to ultimately achieved. In other words, a vision statement points the firm in the direction of where it would eventually like to be in the years to come.
