College life is the start of the good, bad and the ugly experiences for the next 2-4 years. Experiences that lead from adolescence into adulthood. Learning responsibilities and making mistakes, all while learning to live life. College life carries a load on your back from assignments, test taking, social statuses, Greek life and substance abuse. Alcohol is an example of a substance that mainly deals with the college life; the outcomes, behaviors, and age and gender. Alcohol is routinely cited by researchers, college administrators and staff, and also by students themselves, as the most pervasively misused substance on college campuses. (Perkins, 2002). I was assigned to conduct some research for my current psychology class that involved basic questions for the beginning of the new fall semester. As a transfer and much older than most under graduates, did not know a soul. But as I needed the grade and also have learning experience about the research, I went ahead and started to ask random individuals the basic questions. The transition out of high school is one of the most critical passages in life because of pronounced changes in social environment and role responsibilities. (White, 2006 )

Entrance into college marks a time of significant change in the life of a young adult. For many students college is a place where drinking alcohol either begins drinking a substantial number of college students develop alcohol related problems. (Giancola, 2002). As it was the first week of school as well as most of my encounters of individuals my research resulted with mostly undergraduate “freshmen”. The transition from high school to college from my experience as I remember there was a whole lot of “underage” drinking at college parties that I was not of legal to drink.
