SEX AND YOUTH IN CHURCH

Sex is defined by the oxford advanced learners dictionary as partly the physical activity between two people in which they touch each other’s sexual organs and which may include the act itself i.e. sexual intercourse.

Sex is basically reserved for married couples as per the biblical advice in the book of Genesis 1:24 ”The man shall leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and together they become one” However due to the fall of sin as quoted in Genesis 3:7 ‘as soon as Adam and eve had eaten the forbidden fruit, they realized they were naked hence followed by a curse on both of them and extended to animals, plants and the whole earth, from the whole world and the generation to come became corrupted both in the mind and body i.e. physical, Hence craving to do what they have been advised to keep off and in this case sex was not spared either. It has been a challenge to advise the youth to abstain from sex and married people to be faithful to their spouses consecutively.

Youth as defined in the dictionary stated above is a time of life when a person is young, especially before becoming an adult. He or she is energetic and tends to have a feeling or possessing or conquering the whole world with this vigour, coupled with sparkling beauty, the tendency or urge explore the opposite sex becomes almost a crave and without much counseling and education on sex and sexuality one may not be well armed to cope with both the body, biological changes and admiration plus the sexual urges amongst others.

It is for this reason that the government takes initiative to have training session for youth both in class and in the air to warn against fornication .The parents and the church also takes a fore front on advising youth how to behave and when to do certain things e. g sex should be after marriage.
