Notable Creator - Dave Pelzer

Writers often write about things that interest them or things that have happened in their lives. There are many different categories for writers. The categories include; fiction. Non fiction, romance, comedy, and many more. Dave Pelzer is a writer who writes non fiction books. His books tell about his life from childhood through adult hood. He has written a series of seven books. The books all tell the story of his live from age six though adult hood, and raising his own family.

From the time Dave Pelzer was a young boy he was abused both physically and mentally by his mother. The abuse that Dave suffered at the hands of his mother was very extreme. Dave Pelzer had a very difficult life and that is what led him to the success he has had today. According to the book A Child Called It the abuse case of Dave Pelzer was one of the most gruesome and extreme cases in California’s history. The abuse started back in the mid sixties and continued through the mid seventies. He suffered tremendously both mentally and physically. There was not a day that went by that he did not get some sort of abuse. He somehow had the greatest will to survive no matter what his mother did to him.

To Dave Pelzer nature mattered more in his creativity and in his life. He instinctively did things, so that he would survive. According to one of his books he would steal from others lunches or from the store, or dig food out of the trash just to be able to eat something (A Child Called It, 1995). That was his way of getting food. He did what he had to do in order to make sure he ate. Anyone who has not eaten would resort to the same thing that Dave Pelzer did. Of course he knew it was wrong to steal, but when someone is starving they will do what just about anything to get food. Dave Pelzer did what he needed to do in order to survive.
