Billing and Insurance

In my paper I was be discussing the principles that permit disclosure of protected health information without a patient’s consent for each of these category. The 1st category I would like to speak about would have government agencies the reason why I say this because I thought it was interesting after reading a few different sites about these topics.

One Principle that I found interesting after reading chapter 9 is that the covered entity such as government agencies must obtain their patient’s authorization to insure their health information is protected they do this for all of their employees except when it is required by HIPAA. Another thing that I learned about government agencies such as my social security office around here I am from they have to authorization from the person to release PHI before they can receive any type of health information to anyone. Another thing I have learned is that any government agencies can just about do anything that they want. What I mean by this is that the government can sometimes release any type of protected health information when the HIPAA Privacy rule which I think is not right because they shouldn’t be able to do that innless it is really needed. Another think I would like to point out is that if someone that wants to work within a Government regulatory programs they do not have to give any authorization to look within them important health information witch I think is a like weird because I think everyone should be treated the same. Another thing I think is that people should be asked to give any type of authorization before anyone can look at any record that they have on this person the reason why I say is because maybe they don’t want someone to know something within there and they have that right to share anything they or even keep it from a person if it doesn’t have anything to do with what they are looking.
