Plagiarism

Plagiarism can be defined as the process taking someone else’s writings, conversations, music lyrics, or personal thought or idea and then presenting it to the public as your own. This consists of information from web sites, books, songs, TV shows, emails, conferences, artifacts, or any different form or medium. However there is a way in which this can be prevented and it is by using a specific form of reference when you make summaries, paraphrases or make use of words, clauses, phrases and sentences from someone else’s piece, it is significant that references of the information or data inside your paper by make use of citation. Furthermore, it is not acceptable to simply give a list of the source or reference in a bibliography at end of the paper. If you fail to adequately quote, cite or acknowledge a person’s words or genuine ideas with citation it is regarded as plagiarism. The ways in plagiarism can be adequately prevented will be explained, but the most important thing to learn is how to properly cite whatever is not of your own in a write up.

There two forms in which a person can cite they are, external and internal citations. Internal citation is said to be an in-text or parenthetical citation, which basically means the process of giving acknowledgement to an author, songwriter, or speaker through an act of citing their words or ideas in your write-up. This internal citation is finally referenced at the end of the paper in the work-cited section, which is usually in a list. The other name in which they are referred to is parenthetical citations and this is because they are finalized by parentheses. It is better to look at the internal citations as a type of tag that shows or reveals what you have only borrowed from an author and intend to take no credit for. For every item that could be in form of sentences, phrases or ideas in which you have borrowed must be tagged and then listed at the end of the paper in the work cited...
