Planning
Before creating a spreadsheet there are a few questions to ask: • What is the purpose of the spreadsheet? o e.g. a budget, track sales, analyze numbers, create charts for presentations, etc. Determine the type of data you are working with. o Is it currency, percentage, or number needing a comma? o How many decimal places are needed? How is the information to be organized? o By time? (Day, month, or quarter?) o By category? (Income, expenses, etc.)
