INTRODUCTION
It has been found that students learn more when they come across real life problems and situations than what they can through case studies in classes. Thus, it becomes imperative for institutions to expose their students to real life problems which would provide them with the best platform to learn about power and powerlessness. It also helps students feel responsible and learn about the significance of ethics with respect to power. Despite having realised the essence of such exposure brought about by social services, institutes often fail to entice students to participate in such activities whole heartedly. The previous researches have tried to come up with different factors that can promote participation by students in different social services.
When the institutes are trying to persuade students to participate in social activities, they also intend to instil the sense of empathy and commitment towards the growth of the country. This growth would be brought about by the potential leaders who should understand the present situation of their country. A study conducted recently showed that 45% of young men compared to only 15% of young women reported that they had ever participated in any of the various social drives.
