PRAISE-A-THON

Meeting was held on Friday 21st August, 2014.

Tentative Date:

Tentative Theme: Sweetest Praise

Tentative Scripture:

We were guided to keep it simple by Racheal Pierre which was then followed by a discussion which entailed the flow of the Praise-a-Thon from our view point.

We envisioned:

* Pastor Quashie or Pastor Jackson doing pre-prayer as well as an introduction of the theme “Sweetest Praise” as well as stating the importance of praise and worship.

* A Jesus Culture Setting – Beginning with an instrumental where the trumpets start to Jesus at the Centre; who are then accompanied by the vocals and the dancers come out onto the stage from their prospective positions as the vocalists dynamics intensify. We would also like to incorporate a section within the introduction where we do an acapella section.

* The transitions between leaders and back vocalists to be smooth as inspired by Israel’s concerts and also have the use of no stands. E.g. Present Leader will allow the future leader to end their last song and then begin with their set. The back vocals of the present leader will be accompanied by the future back vocalists, who would then take over the singing while the other back vocals exit to the left of the stage.

* The vocalists are mixed according to vocal compatibility and complementation.

* That there should be a change in level as we intensity and get closer to being in the throne room with Jesus, where we would flow from praise into worship. Possibly having three sets of praise sessions followed by two sets of worship sessions.

* That Pastor Haynes would end the Praise-A-Thon as Jesus lead.
