The Think Piece I am going to write about is based on a man who took his Aunt to the Oval to watch a cricket match. The narrator of this story name is Paul Keens Douglas. He is a Trinidadian born play writer and performer. He is a very distinguish writer for more than thirty years, his stories have aired on numerous radio stations. His stories present engaging colloquial language, vivid imagery and relatable takes. Keens Douglas is also a motivational speaker at the Virgin Islands Humanities Council’s “Virgin Voices: A Literary and Spoken Word Festival in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.

This piece is basically about a man who carried his aunt to the Oval to witness a cricket match between Trinidad and the Combined Islands. His aunt name was ‘Tanti Merle’ and she came from St. Vincent. Apparently he didn’t like how his aunt do things compared to him, so he had a problem with her.

At the beginning of the play the narrator made it clear he was angry he had to carry his aunt ‘Tanti Merle’ to the Oval. He said that was the last time he’s carrying any relative with him to watch a cricket match at the Oval, he also said next time he goes to the Oval is only him and God. It was also Tanti Merle birthday she had just turned sixty five years old. He wanted ‘Tanti Merle’ to stay at home and listen the cricket on radio, but his wife insisted he carried his aunt to watch the cricket at the Oval. He wanted to leave his home at ten o’clock to catch a cab to reach in time for the start of the cricket match. The match was scheduled to begin at eleven o’clock, but ‘Tanti Merle’ was keeping him back. His aunt was busy packing a basket full of things to eat and drink (sorrel, cakes etc.) He let her take her time and pack her stuff in the basket, but then his aunt gave him the basket that she packed for him to hold, he had a serious problem with doing this because whenever he went to watch a cricket match at the oval he always went bare handed, he also said that he were looking like...
