Research has highlighted that there is a growth in the middle class within Russia with westernised beliefs and values who are demanding higher quality, premium healthy products with a greater emphasis towards convenience shopping.

• Growth of Multi-National Organisations:

By 2010, 45% of groceries are expected to be bought from supermarkets, compared with 28% in 2006. Increased globalisation and a healthy, growing economy are the main drivers causing this trend. WBD needs to prepare to maximise this opportunity.
