Yardi’s International Energy Efficiency Effort

Yardi is an International company that provides property management accounting software to property management companies. In recent years, Yardi has reached their grips into all parts of residential, military, and commercial aspects of the property management. These developments include tenant portals, invoice processing and payment, budgeting and forecasting, and utilities. There are a few different phases of utilities that Yardi has expanded into. One is creating tenant utility bills using the invoices from the local utility providers by either allocating based on a ratio utility system, or by sub-metering the individual unit to determine the usage. Another facet is energy management, this pertains to reviewing the rates the utility providers are charging Yardi clients and determining if there are any cost saving methods that could be provided to the client. Yardi is constantly trying to find ways to provide energy efficient products to their clients, not only in North America, but worldwide.

Recently, Yardi acquired Enerliance, a company that created a software to provide efficiencies in HVAC systems. The collaboration between the two companies will provide the vast Yardi clientele with the innovative product Enerliance has created. “LOBOS has saved energy, reduced costs, and increased tenant comfort wherever it has been installed, through a combination of building intelligence, efficiency algorithms, and demand response technology. Adding it to our product offerings provides building owners and operators with a single platform for energy management that generates cost savings and furthers our clients’ and Yardi’s environmental initiatives,” said Gordon Morrell, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Yardi.
