Dear Senior Council Officer.

In 2000 the village of Farleigh was expanded and introduced 120 new houses built on the Ticknell Green Estate. The local government want to continue this expansion to build another 80 new houses at Dancers Hill. I have received a lot of evidence that may come of interest whilst taking this big step forward during the expansion of Farleigh.

The new houses will have a large social impact on the community. On one hand many people would enjoy the new houses being built. A local year 10 pupil stated the new houses would be great because it would be a chance to make new friends, spend time at the skate park and a for a possible secondary school to be built in the area. However, on the other hand there are many retired people in the village of Farleigh and one stated that since the Ticknell Green Estate was built, the village has been a lot quieter and no one really knows each other any more. Many local friends and families have had to move to other areas due the rents and house prices being to high. They feel like the village has lost its character and will not be supporting the new expansion.

The Headteacher of the local primary school has stated that after the Ticknell Green Estate was built they have constructed a further 2 new classrooms to hold the many new school children. They have been able to employ more staff which was a boost for the local economy and they are now receiving funds from the government to buy more modern technology. But others are not to happy. A young family expressed they are worried about how long the estate will take to build and the noise it will create. Many locals have young children so the construction may interrupt their sleeping. Once the development is built there will be a lot more traffic around which is potential danger for the children.
