1) Any small margin of error in communications would drastically affect the operations on the projects. From reading the “No Room for Error”, communication processes have been put into effect to make sure the projects operations are checked, double checked and triple checked. Every employee that is involved with completing this project is responsible for some part of it, if at any time communication is relayed incorrectly or miscommunicated, the outcome would change for the entire project; so implementing weekly and quarterly conference calls will allow all employees to understand where they stand and what they’re responsible for.

2) Telephone conference calls are always different than having a face to face meeting. Even though the meeting is being conducted over the phone, professionalism is still required, but can be done from any location. The points of any meeting can be done through a telephone conference, or even a webinar.

3) Written communication is highly effective when conveying specific instructions, especially if it includes step by step instructions. It makes things easier when the recipient receives them because everything is written down for them to do with no miscommunication. Oral communication is also an effective way, but when following oral steps something can get missed.

4) Listening hurdles are something that’s experienced on a daily basis. Especially in my office, there are so many things going on at once that I have to make sure I’m finishing one conversation before I start another. While listening to the person I’m speaking with, if the topic is an important one, I will write down the main points and do my research based on the information that was provided to me. If I were to come into a situation that I felt someone wasn’t listening to me, I would kindly ask them to repeat what I’ve asked them to do, just to make sure they understand what’s being asked of them.
