The “Principles of Organizational Management” course provides me a thorough explanation and exploration of management concepts and practices across all management functions. From the six weeks of course, I would like discuss the combination of all readings, discussions and assignments. The three main topics I will discuss in my paper are the chapter readings; the personal leadership/management style and CEO compare and contrast paper.

The key concept about this course is Adaptability which also contributes to a manager’s or leader’s effectiveness. When a manager is able to adjust quickly to unexpected circumstances, he/she is able to lead his team to adjust as well. Adaptability also means that a manager can think creatively and find new solutions to old problems. This course provides a clear concept about the differences and similarities between management and leadership. Leadership is a notion of communicating an organization’s vision, whereas management is more of the implementation of the organization’s vision. The manager typically carries out the responsibilities written by the organization and has a good team underneath them to carry out the duties and meet the goals. When referring leadership and management, the two are closely linked yet both mean and hold different task and responsibilities.

The chapter readings help me to understand the concept of the topic and brief description on the management and leadership. Furthermore, the discussions on different topics and everyone’s prospective on the topic were very helpful. I think everyone’s points of views are important and it helps me to learn and explore more on the management idea. Most companies or organizations have a mission statement that mirrors and supports a company’s vision. Successful organizations have strong leaders and managers that develop, support and encourage employee longevity within a company....
