2. How well my Diet meets Pyramid Recommendations
a. How well did your average intake meet the minimum recommendations of the Food Guide Pyramid? For each food group in which you did not meet the minimum recommended servings, identify nutrients that would be low in your diet.
On average across three days, only the recommended goals are met for the discretionary group. I am greatly deficient in vegetables and milk, and eat no fruits at all. I am also deficient, though less severely, for grains and meats and beans.
Not consuming grains as much as necessary, I suffer from inadequate riboflavin, niacin, thiamin, folate, iron, protein, and fiber. As a result of an insufficient intake of a variety of vegetables, I risk being low in vitamin A, vitamin C, folate, potassium, fiber, and iron. Vitamin A, Vitamin C, potassium, and fiber are low in my diet as a result of not eating any fruits. By not drinking enough milk, my diet is low in calcium, protein, vitamin B12, Vitamin D, vitamin A, and riboflavin....
