Gatsby and Tom Charlie

“The great Gatsby” and “Babylon Revisited” stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald shows how people differently see the world. They talk about highs and lows of the lead character and People from different walks of life interpret everyday experiences in different ways. In addition, both stories is indeed talk about money, and it also explores its complicated love chain."Babylon Revisited" is the story of a Charlie Wales, who is alcoholic returned to Paris after the start of the Depression and his attempt to win back custody of his daughter. “The great Gatsby” is a tragic love story of lost love. Based on Gatsby’s love for a young girl he met before going off to war. He tried to build the American dream while Daisy the young girl who he loved enjoyed the riches by her husband who adored her. Tom in other hand is Dasiy’s husband and he is someone who seek for more for his life. However, both Gatsby and Tom have some similar lifestyle including charlie and different personality. However, Dasiy’s chose to stay with Tom and let Gatsby die because of her childish little foolish act.

Tom and Gatsby are about in their early 30s. Also,Both Gatsby and Tom live a very stable and wealthy life and so does Charlie. Tom may have gone to college, but he is not an educated man; neither is Gatsby even though he went in Harvard. Gatsby and Tom also like to party all the time. In fact, Gatsby holds a party almost every week. And Charlie is a drunken party goer. Tom and Gatsby meet in several situations without revealing their true thoughts/feelings about each other. (It is only in the hotel scene that their mutual hatred is expressed. Until then, in their dealings with each other, each man exercises self-control and wears a social face.
