First question: Please write a paragraph explaining California's budget restraints and its effects on community college funding.

California's has had budget restraints that have made it increasingly difficult for colleges to meet their missions and, consequently for many Californians to obtain the education and skills they needto succeed in the current economic environment. Student enrollment rates in California’s community colleges have dropped to a 20-year low in the wake of unprecedented cuts in state funding. Colleges have reduced staff, cut courses, and increased class sizes—all of which have led to declines in student access.

Which sociological concepts can you apply to an analysis of budget effects on community college?

I chose the concepts because in the analysis of the budget we see that it affect the population of the students. It is situational because of the situation at hand. Social change applies due to the forced impacts and changes of California’s Budget.

How best can you explain the problem and the solution- if any- in sociological terms?
