SELECTION

      It is necessary to be able to identify and understand the hypothesis of a research.   This paper will identify and summarize the hypothesis of the age labor force of The Home Depot. The Home Depot is a home improvement organization that sales everything needed to complete a home project. The Date collected is for this research is from the associates at the Home Depot. The research that is to be conducted is to find out what is the age and gender of the associates of the departments in the store.

MANIPULATION

The research data will come from five associates at Home Depot Kenner store. The five associates are from different departments in the store. The five associates are asked some of the same questions. The questions consist of “what is the average age of the workers at the Home Depot and what gender is seen the most at the store”.

HYPOTHESIS1

Null: Mean age of the labor force is 35.5 years of age µ = 35.5

Alternate:   Mean age of the labor force is not 35.5 years of age µ ≠ 35.5

HYPOTHESIS2

Null:   The proportion of the labor force that is female is greater than or equal to 47.8%

π > 47.8%

Alternate:  The proportion of the labor force that is female is less than 47.8%

π < 47.8%

DATA

The associates that will be tested are a mix of gender and age. The questions that were given to the associates of the store were survey base and disburse to five departments with the mixture of and gender. The survey questions were based on and gender. The numbers tested to find the mean is 35, 38, 26, 44, and 34.
