ABSTRACT

A project is a connection of interrelated activities having one purpose and that must be completed by a specific time, within budget and according to specification and plan. Project life cycle has four phases which include Project conception, definition of the Project, planning of the Project, implementation and Control, Project Termination. All this phases must be considered. Sustainability is the key issue in our day to day life that should highly considered. The main aim of writing this report is to explain how an engineer in charge of a project would ensure that the project meet the sustainability required. To achieve this both the client and the stakeholders must be committed to sustainability.

During design, identification of site, construction and operation of a project, sustainability principles must be the core on which this activities are built. To achieve this feasibility studies are done to ensure that sustainability is not compromised. There are many challenges and avenues that undermine sustainability and it’s the responsibility of all stake holders to ensure that a project meet the required sustainability requirements.
