Based off of my analysis for the departments of standard item production, custom systems and components, and production support I noticed various degrees of leadership from the managers of those departments. Below is a breakdown of my analysis with recommendations on moving the plant forward.

After studying the managers Greg, Maria and Bill, I noticed different leadership styles being used by each of them. Greg is very hands-on type of person who is looking to make sure his followers are always on track with how procedures are to be followed. With his style there isn’t much for the followers to get around as he’s more into the overall managerial of things and not necessarily a leader. In the current role of standard items manager his skills are not being used to the best of his ability as the followers, need more than a micro-manager. In essence his style could be causing for the low morale of the team. His knowledge of the department and how things are supposed to be operated is spot on, I just look at him as needing a little more people skills.

With Bill and Maria they are more of a leader then just a manager and making sure that the followers are doing their respected jobs correctly. For instance, Maria has routine meetings making sure her followers are in the loop on everything and informed in regards to procedural updates. She then follows up on those meetings making sure her followers are with her. She is hands on but in a different sense. She wants to let her team know that she is there for them if any serious problem should arise, and is a problem solver. Her leadership style does have a positive effect as she engages her followers and she has really good mix of leadership skills along with managerial skills. However, I find her skills maybe better used in another department highlighted in my final analysis below.

Bill is a rah-rah type of leader, being very people oriented. You can often see Bill give encouraging speeches to his...
