TRIAL MARIAGE IN STUDENTS
It is quiet common these days in many modern and fast-growing
cities, like Hanoi, that divorce rate is on a marked upward trend.
Consequently, many a person, especially students, holds a view of
cohabiting before marriage as a effective solution to that problem. I myself
believe that it is not a good option.
The reason for this trend may involve the recognition indicated in
Huston’s study in the article “Will Your Marriage Last”. It suggests that a
couple’s breaking up is mainly due to the erosion of affection and passion
for each other through the first two years after officially becoming husband
and wife. Furthermore, it is brief courtship that leads the spouse not to
thoroughly get the realistic panorama of their relationship but mostly the
appealing and pleasant images. Hidden aspects of their personalities emerge,
which does not come up to their expectations, therefore, frustrate and
