I believe that a chart representing the statistical data of populations visiting zoos for a specific venue will support my topic. I have also chosen to include a photo (pending copyright release from Atlanta zoo) to accompany the chart and story about the panda cubs. These visuals will strengthen my argument because they clearly show an increase in zoo visitors when the cubs came to the zoo, thus strengthening the argument that "exotic" exhibits draw zoo visitors (regardless of conditions). These visuals will be located within the appropriate location when I discuss exotic exhibits (or non native zoo animals...) and the stresses that the animals go through being taken out of their natural habitat to be placed in a zoo facility.

It is clear that the introduction of new and exotic exhibits increase visitor numbers. One clear example exists at the Zoo Atlanta when two baby pandas arrived at the facility. The chart below in figure 1 shows the increase from one year to the next and the obvious increase that the key exhibit solicited.

The baby panda’s Lun-Lun and Yang-Yang, were introduced into their new habitat in March of 1999. Although they are doing well the habitat is far from their natural habitat. However, Zoo Atlanta must be applauded for their efforts in keeping the pandas safe and comfortable.
