Overview

For this leadership, we plan to teach about the story The Rat Trap and the many different branches that come off of this story. This includes literary devises, theme, plot, and lastly characters. We will use many resources like Prezi, a game with colorful balls and discussion questions, and lastly assess the knowledge of my classmates by a quiz.

Introduce Book & Author (Jose) | We will work through a Prezi presentation which includes author and book information. This Prezi also, later in the lesson, includes literary devises. (About 5 mins) | Students will have an opportunity to fill out their packets (the author and plot line boxes). |

Quiz(Leo) | We will give out this quiz to our classmates in order to see what their understanding of the story is before we go over it in detail. (About 5 mins) | Students will be given time to complete quiz and will also be given an extra credit question. Following the completion of the quizzes the students will be asked to pass them up. |

Activity(Emma) | I will have a list of questions and the class will be split in 2. Each side will have a chance to pull a ball and each ball has a different point value and type of question. This will help everyone learn the story a little more. (About 25 mins) | Students will break up into 2 groups and play a game that will test their knowledge and attention to detail. |

Theme(Reyes) and Connections (Emma) | We will go over theme with in our power point (less than 3 mins) | Students will have a chance to write down and understand theme |

Discussion Questions(Reyes and emma) | We will pass out a sheet with discussion questions. (Remaining Time) | Students will receive a discussion question sheet that compares good and evil. |
