This essay record my externship experience.Externship is having an opportunity to utilize your hands on skills and bring you one step closer to your career.The business-accountant program at my school ,ASA College in Brooklyn,NY has prepared me for my internship at Goodwill/Pro placement solution. In this program i learn more about my subject now than i did before i came to ASA.

At first,Before i started ASA College I was undecided on what major i wanted to work on,Mainly my problem was that I didn’t value education as much as i did with athletics.I always seen myself very intelligent and from grade school Math was always my strongest,so i choose the business field because i wanted to learn and was interest in working and becoming an entrepreneur and starting my own business,Now at ASA I learn more now than i did before and i am grateful and also excited

Goodwills externship site provided me with the opportunity to use what learned during my extensive classroom training to real life situations. Externship allowed me to practice and develop the skills necessary to work in a career like basis. During my externship i was shadowing caseworkers, My daily duties were organizing documents, Copying/Faxing paperwork and Assisting in calling clients and giving them appointments. Although the externship site wasn't based on my major I still got a chance to enhance and improve skills that would translate to business field. For example talking with the clients has help me improve my communicational skills to a fully potential to a point where i feel comfortable talking to the clients about their job opportunities and also helping arranging appointments between clients and managers.Organizing paperwork has help me improve on my organization and has help me prepare to become more professional.
