Introduction

In the portfolio examination the focus will be on the nature of a quantitative content analysis and how it is structured according to its steps. The researches which will be conducted will be based on various aspects of research according to the prescribes study materials. The researcher will be investigating various aspects and also analyzing measuring participating and providing an overview of the findings and also applying the theory of such particular researches to relevant research problems. Content analysis is also a tool that allows the researchers to proble the meaning contained in any particular mediated text and it allows us to make sound arguments about particular presentations of certain characteristics that have been indentified in the message by the researchers. This are some of the work in which will be dealt with in detail in the portfolio examination.

An investigative quantitative analysis of the daily sun newspaper about the priority given to the reported crime news topics over the topic of education within a specific period of five days.

(b) how are news separated inthis newspaper?

(c) how often does it report on educational issues?

(d) is there an educational section in this newspaper?

(e) what dominates the front page of this newspaper, according to the time frame allocated to studying this newspaper, is it crime report or educational reports?

2.3 method

Quantitative content analysis involves some form of counting and applies the scientific method rigourously and it proves more useful for examining manifest messages.
