BUILDING BLOCKS OF DESTINY

There are countless things I cannot fathom. I frequently feel of having

something in my mind but cannot express it. There are unexplained thoughts

suspended deep down my exhausted mind. I am unsure of what to say,

doubtful of what to share. No matter what I will state in this essay, I know, is

meant to be because I believe in destiny. We may think that we are the ones

who decide a choice or choose the decision, but what if it is our destiny to

decide that certain choice and choose that specific decision?

Experience really affects one’s life, some are conscious about it and

others may not. But in general, whether that experience is morally worthy or

otherwise, that serves as a reason or may be a lesson for someone to choose

the right decisions in his every endeavor that will ultimately lead him to

success. Our experiences mold us to who we are. They are the building

blocks that contribute to the shaping of the episodes in our lives—episodes

that will be ingredients of our destiny. My experiences will attest to that.

It was first week of March 2005 when I was then at my Kinder 2 at a

child learning center, my teacher told me that I am one of the top five honor

students in our class and will be receiving a medal on our graduation day

scheduled on the last week of that month. When I went home that day, I

proudly told my Tatay and my siblings that I am an honor student and will

receive a medal on our graduation day. At that time, my Nanay was working

outside the country to further support our family’s financial needs. So I was

not the one who told her of the news.

I was so happy and very excited when my kindergarten graduation

ceremony started. Different awards in academic excellence and values

were given and I received three awards. My heart pounded so strong when
