Reflection Paper

When preforming a self-reflection, you must consider all aspects of yourself. Do your best to not lie to yourself about who you truly are. People what to believe that they are generally good, but the truth is that we all have flaws that are just as much a part of us as the good that we want to place the most emphases on. I, like most others think that I am a good person. According to Erik Erikson I fall in the seventh stage (2004). I am a middle aged man in his early forties. I am married with three girls. I am also the youngest of five children. I have two older brothers and two older sisters. I grew up in a country setting in the south east part of Indiana. I believe that I have a good set of morals and I have learned good values from my upbringing. As I was going through life I have always thought that you should treat others like I would like to be treated. I have never had a problem making friends and I think that my friendly disposition has had a huge influence on that. I do my best to never lie to anybody because I would not like to be lied to. This is not always the best way to go. When you tell the truth sometimes you must use a little consideration for their feelings. This is not my best virtue. I have always had a problem with speaking my mind. Sometimes this can get me into trouble. There is a place and time for everything and sometimes I have a hard time finding the best time and place to discuss things that may not be so great for a person to hear. We all make poor decisions sometimes.

A person should always to what they believe is the right thing to do in that particular time and place. When I think of ethics, I think of how I got mine. Growing up in the country I had a unique view on the way the world works. We had farm animals when I was very young and we all had a part of keeping the animals feed and healthy.
