1. What accounts for Andy's success in the restaurant business?

I believe what accounts for Andy's success is that he is confident, consistent, connected, happy, helpful, understanding and is a teach/ coach figure to his employees. I believe his success comes from all of these traits and that he also is passionate in how customers feel and how is business is presented to the public. He is confident about the approach to his restaurant and is also confident that is it still very successful while he celebrates his 25th anniversary. He also states that " I am not trying different fads to get people to come here. People come here because they know they will get great food. They also want to support someone with whom they can connect with" This sentence also explains how consistent and reliable Andy is to his customers and restaurant. Under the Three-Skill Approach, Andy displays that he high in technical skill, human skill and conceptual skills. His technical skills are displayed when he takes his skills in customer service and applies them to his restaurant. He demonstrates that he is proficient in this trait. His human skills are displayed when he works with people such as his customers and employee's and understands their strengths, weaknesses, needs and wants. Furthermore his ability to work with ideas defiantly is a factor to his success. He is comfortable talking about his ideas and aspirations that shape his restaurant to give him optimum success. Since Andy can display all of these traits, it is clear that he is an effective leader and can apply his leadership skills to his restaurant business which accounts for his success.

2. From the skills perspective, how would you describe the three managers, Kelly, Danielle, and Patrick? What does each of them need to do to improve his or her skills?
