Is Tom Brady a cheater?
The most popular topic talked about in the world of sports today is if the New England Patriots cheated their way to their 8th Super Bowl appearance. After the Patriots obliterated the Colts in the AFC Championship, there were rumors of the ball being below regulation pressure giving the Patriots offense an advantage and ultimately giving their quarterback Tom Brady an advantage. When Tom Brady was asked if he was a cheater and if he knew about the ball having low pressure he paused, smirked, and replied, “I don’t think so, I feel I’ve always played by the rules.” Tom Brady is seen as clean-cut guy who works hard, does everything right, and according to him someone who played by the rules. But, its hard for me to believe that a successful quarterback like Tom does not asses his footballs before a huge championship game knowing exactly what his footballs feel like in case the balls need to be rubbed down for gripping or adjusted to the correct pressure so he can successfully run his offense. The sports world wants to know did Tom Brady cheat his way to Super Bowl XLIX?
In 2012, Tom Brady was quoted in an interview saying that he liked when players spike the balls after touchdowns because it lowers the pressure of the ball. In the AFC championship game, the balls the Patriots were using weighed 11.5 PSI. It’s not rocket science. When the pressure of a football is below the minimum NFL pressure rule 12.5 PSI, quarterbacks can throw the ball easier and farther cause of better grip along with receivers having an advantage catching and securing the ball. So people ask, why would Tom do such an unprofessional thing? Ask anyone whose played Tom and they’ll say on the field he’s a different person with a different attitude.
