Network

In this lab we were required to build a small network using Windows . This was accomplished by creating a folder which was then shared between computers. At the end of the lab we were also required to access our partners PC using Remote Desktop. Each step of this process is documented with screenshots which can be seen in the following section of the report. In the first section of the lab we needed to verify our computers settings, the computer name, IP address, and password. My computer name was wrong initially so this needed to be changed while the IP address and password were correct. Once the computer name was changed a screenshot was taken SS-1 and we proceeded to the next part of the lab. In this part of the lab we created a shared folder which could be accessed by our partner and the results can be seen in SS-2. The next part of the lab required us to map a network drive and connect to each others computer to see the shared folder. I was not able to connect to my partners PC initially because the password that was used was incorrect. One the password was changed and the computer was restarted we were able to connect without an issue, this can be seen in SS-3. In the final part of the lab Windows Remote Desktop was used to connect to another PC. In doing this we are able to access a network or PC in a different location when it is not possible to be present there. SS-4 and SS-5 document the RDP experience. No issues were had in this section of the lab. Overall the entire lab went smoothly with the only issues coming from the initial setup of the PCs, the incorrect computer name and password that were mentioned above.
