There are numerous jobs in the marketplace that hold the employees to a higher level of accountability and responsibility. Any profession that deals directly with the consumer and provides services to an individual are required to follow a certain set of standards. The legal repercussions of mistakes made during work vary from one profession to the next.

Many times we read an article in a newspaper or magazine that turns out to be untrue, misinterpreted, or exaggerated. Those with careers based in journalism, such as reporters, publicist, and news anchors, have an easier time correcting such issues, because in most cases, misinformation can be amended and reprinted. The task of covering news stories provides the reporter with the freedom of using their own personal opinions, as well as allowing for a broader range of error. Some other jobs with this freedom would include actors, authors, and musicians.

Unfortunately for some, creating a mistake during their work hours can not only cause harm to an individual, but can also result in severe medical issues or even death. Some examples of these professions would include healthcare professionals, nurses, and pharmacists. In these settings, a special attention to detail would required. Not only are those in the medical field subjected to these stipulations, but also, careers handling family issues or those that are based in legal settings are obligated to abide by strict rules and regulations.

As for myself, I currently work as a residential instructor for a mental healthcare facility and oversee the direct attention of the individuals living there. Besides the personal gratification I am left feeling when assisting those less fortunate than myself, there are also numerous disadvantages when dealing with the mistakes or accidents that may arise.
