First Investment

A few months ago we were introduced to a stock market game, a game that allows you to make real time investments without the real risk or the actual money. The purpose is to teach you how to make the correct investments; and I excelled in that field. I was ranked highest amongst all of my economics teacher’s classes. I was able to do this by making the correct choices, researching before I bought and uses the past trends of a certain company to predict its future; however, the main purpose of playing that game is to invest for the long run, and I did not I made my investment choices based on the short amount of time we will be playing. And the downfall of making the risky get rich quick investments I used, is that it is not safe and unpredictable when the quick rising stocks will plummet. So since we are only given a short period of time this game doesn’t really do the justice of making the long term safe investments, so I have thought of a new game.

I am sure we have all heard of the game Monopoly by Hasbro, and for those who haven't, basically you go around the board and buy real-estate trying to make the other players go bankrupt in order to win, hence the name Monopoly. My game however will not consist of a board, it will be based on the golden age of technology, algorithms, and pretend stocks. It will not be about real-estate; all in one simple app, up to four players can join in and make investments for fake companies that represent the ones we actually know. Since these stocks are not influenced by the outside world, you are the one who decides how the stock’s value will trend. Buying and selling of similar stocks can cause other values to rise and fall, now don’t get to thinking that this game will be easy it won’t, there will be sudden events that will occur forcing the stocks to skyrocket and plummet, the spontaneous cease of assets by the IRS. It will be your own economy in your pocket, you can play the quick version of the game that...
