Nautilus is the fictional submarine.

The captain extracted sodium from the water to mix with mercury and use as batteries.

David Balfour, a newly orphaned young boy who is cheated out of his inheritance by his uncle and kidnapped

Hoseason took David on a tour of the ship to sell David as a slave to a plantation in America.

ii. Who was Mr. Campbell? How did he help David? What did David learn about himself from Mr. Campbell?

Mr. Campbell, the minister of Essendean, and a good friend to David and his late father.

Campbell then gives David four things: first, the little money left over from his father's estate; a Bible; a shilling; and a recipe for a healing ointment.

 Mr. Campbell reveals the father's dying wishes to David. He learns from Mr.Campbell that he, in fact, from a wealthy family, though he has grown up in poverty.
